Smallholder and Agri-SME Finance and Investment Network
The Smallholder and Agri-SME Finance and Investment Network (SAFIN) is a network of over 50 institutions from different parts of the landscape of agricultural finance that share a commitment to accelerating access to finance for SMEs in agricultural value chains.
SAFIN consists of financial institutions, philanthropic foundations, social lenders, technical assistance providers, farmers’ organisations, and development finance organisations. From different vantage points, with different tools and entry points, each member works to bridge the investment gap in agriculture and food systems by financially empowering agri-SME and smallholder investors.
Members come together to identify shared ecosystem issues, generate new evidence, influence policies and co-design investments to close the multi-billion-dollar financing gap faced by agricultural SMEs. By facilitating coordination and collaboration across members to increase the flow of investment to agricultural SMEs, SAFIN is supporting a financial ecosystem that allows rural SMEs to be commercially viable and sustainable.
Small Foundation is a SAFIN partner has supported SAFIN’s operations and network development through funding and non-financial support.
