Koma Capital

Koma Capital is an investment firm focused on building inclusive, sustainable businesses across Africa. Koma designs financial solutions to bridge the gap between rural SMEs and formal finance. In addition to capital, Koma provides operational support to help entrepreneurs navigate early challenges, strengthen their business models, and scale their impact. Its current focus is piloting a leaner partial guarantee model targeted at non-bank financial institutions that serve early-stage and underserved enterprises. 

Through combining flexible risk-sharing tools, technical assistance, and a graduation framework, Koma Capital aims to test new pathways for rural SMEs to access working capital and, over time, larger sources of commercial finance. 

Small Foundation is supporting Koma’s pilot as part of our broader commitment to improving access to finance for rural enterprises in sub-Saharan Africa.
