Announcing new partnership with School of International Futures

School of International Futures (SOIF) is a UK-based non-profit that helps leaders in business, government and the third sector use foresight (ordered long-term thinking) to explore alternative futures and act on the implications for decision-making today. SOIF’s mission is to use foresight as a tool of planning, strategy and policy to safeguard the interests of future generations. SOIF have worked at the highest levels of government, private and NGO sectors, introducing strategic foresight to over 600 senior leaders from 50+ countries.

Three years ago SOIF launched an initiative to invest in emerging foresight practitioners across the globe, by creating an award to recognise the next generation’s endeavours in disrupting and shaping the future: the Joseph Jaworski Next Generation Foresight Practitioners (NGFP) Award.

From this initiative, a vibrant, global alumni of NGFP has emerged – an ambitious association of practitioners seeking to better connect and collaborate for greater impact. SOIF are now beginning to catalyse regional networks of their NGFP alumni to further spur and sustain the impact of their award and to amplify the capability and potential impact of the practitioners.

Small Foundation is delighted to share that we will be supporting SOIF to catalyse an NGFP leadership network in Africa.

This investment is part of Small Foundation’s network practice in Africa. Working in strong collaboration with partners Converge and Creative Metier, Small Foundation supports the leadership and membership engagement of mission-aligned African networks seeking to increase sustainability and amplify cross-cutting, ecosystem-level impact.
