Pathways to Prosperity: 2019 Rural and Agricultural Finance State of the Sector Report (Nov. 2019) reviews how the rural and agricultural finance sector has evolved over the preceding three years, tracking shifts in innovation, service delivery, and market participation.
The report highlights the rapid acceleration of technology-driven innovation, the entry of more diverse service and capital providers, and the bundling of services in new ways. Despite these advances, it finds that a large and persistent gap in smallholder and agricultural SME finance remains.
