FASA (Financing for Agricultural SMEs in Africa) is a multi-donor fund-of-funds initiative focused on improving access to finance for agricultural small and medium-sized enterprises (Agri-SMEs) across Africa. FASA was initiated by USAID and Norad, with additional support from partners including the United Kingdom and the Republic of Korea. The initiative is managed by Investisseurs & Partenaires (I&P), with CGIAR’s ImpactSF acting as the agriculture and climate partner.

The initiative works through investment funds active in the sector, with the aim of mobilising additional capital into agricultural value chains that remain underserved by traditional financing models.

Small Foundation supports the learning component of FASA, drawing on prior work in financial benchmarking and data collection across the agricultural finance ecosystem. Through this partnership, Small Foundation aims to contribute to a stronger evidence base on how capital can be more effectively structured and deployed in Agri-SME finance.
