Supporting the Africa Agri-Tech Development Forum in partnership with Bobab

Small Foundation is delighted to announce a new partnership with Bobab, an event streaming and peer-to-peer networking platform dedicated to connecting science, tech and business professionals working in and for Africa.

Small Foundation’s funding will support the next phase of the Africa Agri-Tech Development Forum, a virtual event series exploring the challenges, identifying the opportunities and promoting the solutions for agri-tech innovation across Africa.

Bringing together diverse groups of experts from business, academia and policy from across Africa and beyond, the Forum explores where and how innovation can support agriculture as a source of sustainable growth and jobs. Composed of webinars and interactive roundtables, each event enables learning, sharing and connection between attendees who might not otherwise meet.

Bobab believe that connection is the catalyst for achieving the Forum’s core objectives:

  1. Sharing and shaping innovative national and regional policy
  2. Promoting cutting-edge academic research and disseminating new ways of thinking
  3. Spotlighting pioneering agri-tech entrepreneurs and businesses that have the potential to revolutionise food systems across Africa.

In encouraging and facilitating connection and networking Bobab is an excellent complement to Small Foundation’s broader support for African-focused impact networks internationally and especially within Africa. Small Foundation believes that impact networks can be a powerful mechanism for system change.

You can join Forum conversations via the Bobab website. The next event, Financing the Future of Off-Farm Innovation in Africa, will take place on Thursday 16th September at 12 noon BST. The following event, Supporting Agricultural Innovation and Food Manufacturing with Effective Trade and Industrial Policy will take place on Thursday 4th November at 1300 GMT.
