Small Foundation is hiring a Communications Lead

We’re looking for a talented communicator to help us tell the story of our work, and to shape how we share it with the world.

At Small Foundation, dissemination isn’t an afterthought: it’s one of our core charitable objects. We believe that sharing knowledge, insights, and learning from our partnerships and initiatives is a key function of our work. Now, we’re looking for someone to lead that effort.

This is a new role, based in either Nairobi or Lagos, responsible for leading, shaping, and delivering Small Foundation’s communications practice from the ground up. You’ll combine strategic oversight with creative direction, ensuring our communications authentically express our vision and mission, enhance our influence, and deepen engagement across our ecosystem.

Collaboration sits at the heart of everything we do. We partner with peers, co-investors, and local actors to co-create strategies, fill market gaps, and share lessons. We embrace complexity, act with humility, and support bold experimentation – and we want our communications to reflect that spirit.

If you’re passionate about purpose-driven work and want to make your mark in a dynamic, evolving organisation, we’d love to hear from you. We are delighted to be working with Tafuta Associates on this search.
