Effectiveness & Efficiency of Business Development Services for Agri-SMEs (March 2023) examines the effectiveness and cost-efficiency of business development services (BDS) programmes in sub-Saharan Africa that support agricultural enterprises to grow and thrive. The research included an extensive desk review of existing studies, analysis of data from 15 BDS provider case studies, and interviews with sector stakeholders.
The study sought to build greater understanding of the economics of BDS provision, addressing a critical gap in knowledge on how such services can be delivered sustainably and at scale.
