Ci Gaba is a Ghana-based, local-currency fund of funds and the first African-domiciled vehicle of its kind, managed by Savannah Impact Advisory (SIA). The fund is focused on mobilising domestic institutional capital into SME finance, investing across venture capital, private equity, and debt strategies to support small and medium enterprises. By using a blended finance structure, Ci Gaba reduces risk for local investors and creates a viable pathway for pension funds to allocate to private markets.

Small Foundation’s catalytic investment supports Ci Gaba in reaching first close and unlocking commitments from Ghanaian pension funds. By absorbing early-stage risk, this investment is designed to crowd in significant local capital and demonstrate the viability of local-currency fund structures, contributing to the development of a more sustainable SME financing ecosystem.
