Exploring networks as a powerful mechanism for impact: new research by Creative Metier

Since 2019, Small Foundation has supported our partner Creative Metier in a new action research programme exploring the appetite and potential for six locally-led member networks in Kenya and Uganda to adapt their model to a Converge network approach.

We hypothesised that adoption of a network approach would support these networks in achieving greater impact as they work towards addressing complex business ecosystem issues. Creative Metier’s key research findings, as presented in their Executive Summary, support this hypothesis and raise further questions on how best to nurture a growing, impactful network practice in Africa .

This research is part of Small Foundation’s network practice in East Africa. Working in strong collaboration with Converge and Creative Metier, Small Foundation supports the leadership and membership engagement of mission-aligned African networks seeking to increase sustainability and amplify cross-cutting, ecosystem-level impact.

More information on our network practice, including our overall cross-cutting initiative strategy and network partner profiles, can be found here.
