Cultivating Network Leadership: Bopa di Peo Fellowship

Small Foundation is delighted to highlight the Bopa di Peo Fellowship, a cohort-based leadership journey for African network practitioners.

For the past several years, Small Foundation has invested in impact networks as a means of supporting collaborative action around complex challenges related to our vision, mission and goal.

That support has taken many forms, including:

  • Connecting networks through online and in-person fora, including our Partner Gathering
  • Supporting network practitioners to hone and develop their skills, through initiatives such as the Network Leadership Series
  • Contributing to a deeper understanding of how networks support systems change, including through this documentary and the book Impact Networks by David Ehrlichmann.

Earlier this year, our partners in Circle Generation launched the Bopa di Peo Fellowship to enable African network practitioners to deepen their practice and gain new skills and insights in network facilitation, sense-making and leadership. Supporting current and future network leaders who are embracing relational work as a response to critical, complex questions is a vital part of building the wider network infrastructure that underpins Small Foundation’s work.

The first cohort of fellows gathered in Nairobi in September to begin their Bopa di Peo journey. Over the course of ten months, they will engage in monthly workshops and network events, meet in person, and work closely with facilitators and mentors to collectively strengthen their network leadership practice.

We look forward to following the inaugural fellows as they continue their journey. You can too, through Circle Generation’s newsletter and dedicated blog

Further information, including how to become a fellow, is available on Circle Generation’s website.
